May I never be...

too busy, in my pursuit of the sweet nectar of life, to honor you.
May I always find the words that give comfort and support.
May I always listen with an open heart.

May I never be so self absorbed, in my journey, that I fail to honor you.
May I know your journey is as important as mine.
May I always be interested.

May I never be too busy to see you are tired and need rest.
For the sun can be intense and everyone needs shade.
May I be here to offer a drink of water.

Prosperity

I live in an abundant universe.
There is more than enough for everyone
if we share.
There is beauty in my own front yard.

It is up to me to be aware.

I freely share this abundance.
I give thanks.
I give and receive.
I am in the flow of the riches of the universe.
I too nectar and taste the sweetness of this day.
I am walking in gratitude.

Out to lunch

I met my sister for lunch today.
She had a vacation day.
We met in Prairie Village, Kansas.
It is where we grew up.

Prairie Village is a satellite city within the metropolitan area
of Kansas City, Missouri.
Our father built our house in 1954.
When we were kids we would walk to the shopping area often as we lived about ten blocks away.
Meeting for lunch for fun.

After lunch we walked around the Village.
The shopping district has changed over the years.
The clock tower was added and many more shops have sprung up.

They still have an ice cream parlor and a drug store.
There are dress shops, a department store, a day spa, a grocery store and a music store.
Many new landscape features with a mindfulness to native plants.
They have prairie plants; sumac, prairie grasses and Black-eyed Susan's.
A new fountain has been placed around the sculpture of the Prairie Family.
I remember it from when I was a child.

Refreshed

I walked as the sun rose.

It had rained during the night.

I walked through the puddles.
I walked an hour.
The earth was refreshed.

Buggy Morning

As I walked this morning
I was aware of all the bugs.

I watched the butterflies.
Seeing the Damsel resting was a treat.
I heard the locust singing.

The bees pay no attention to me.

7am

The humidity was already 48%
when I put my socks and shoes on.

I walked in my neighborhood.

The walnuts are ripening.

Today the Buckeyes were basking
in the cul-de-sacs.

I see feathers every morning.
I only walked half an hour.

I can walk again after sunset.
My word today is sensible.

Hot

I walked before the heat of the morning.
I walked while the dew still clung to the grass.

On the parkway wildflowers are in bloom.

The Cabbage Whites were flying.

A Tawny Emperor walked with me.

It is hot.
I drank lots of water.

I am thinking about friendship.
I started a journal.

A walk in the woods

My husband and I
walked in the woods this morning.
It was nice to see the Red-Spotted Purple.

In a clearing we saw a Spicebush Swallowtail.
There are many different types of Bluets, a Damselfly.
Walking together, hunting butterflies and dragonflies, is perfect companionship.
We walked for two hours.
I was hot and thirsty when we returned to our car.
We saw an Indigo Bunting too.

Day of Beauty

Today I leave early for a day of beauty.
I am going to a Day Spa.

Deb @ Posted From Home
told me about "Birds Egg Feather Nest".
I have enjoyed this book so very much that I ordered
Maryjo Koch's other books.

"Flight Plans" came the other day.
It tucks nicely into my bag.

A different sort of meditation.
A different sort of morning walk.
Insight is the best sight.
Thank you Deb.

Hazy Morning

Another ozone alert day.
Another day without rain.
I walked early.

The grass was heavy with dew.
The sun burned through the haze.
The birds were quiet.

The Poplar trees are starting to turn.
Every now and again a leaf falls to the ground.
It seems early.

As I walked this morning I gave thanks for you.
You, who walk with me each day.
You, whom I call my friends.

Nameste.

Awake

I slept last night,
all night with out awakening.
I felt rejuvenated when I awoke.
I showered and dressed before I fed the birds.
I walked with wet hair and a quick pace.
I walked for an hour.

All along my route I saw Tawny Emperors.
They were sunning in the grasses, on the rocks and in the gravel.
They too awoke.
