To the woods

The Dogwoods are in full bloom.
It is the state tree of Missouri.

Two blocks from my house is Cave Springs.
It is a small wooded area.
There is a memorial garden in the center of a parking lot.

The white daffodils are in bloom with the iris.
A lovely combination.

There is a man made pond near the Nature Center.
I was pleased to see frogs!

Someone has installed a bee box by the pond.

Some of the understory in the woods is in bloom.

A Damselfly flew near.
The first one I have seen this year.

A pair of Dragonflies patrolled the natural pond.

I stayed on the trail today.

I enjoyed the Red bud Trees.

It is their time.

A Spring Azure flew by me and landed for an instant.

I am so happy to see the bugs again.

So very happy.

Inspiration

I walked in the cemetery.

The trees are just beginning to bud.

Blue Eyed Goose was upset with me.
I was too close for comfort.
I walked for inspiration.

A sunny walk

I walked down the street this afternoon.

I was awed by my neighbor's Pink Dogwood.

I sat under my neighbor's apple tree.
The house is still empty.
A few Pine Siskins flew in and out of the evergreens.

Already we have dandelion clocks!

Some one planted white tulips in the circle at the end of the street.

They are pretty.

I wonder what these pretty flowers are?

I will call my neighbor to find out.

Lots of tulips are in bloom.

We received an inch of rain over the weekend.

The worms are easy to find!

Puddle Jumping

The morning rains stopped while I was running errands.

I was pleased I had worn my rain hat

and boots.

I stopped at the park

and took a walk!

There were puddles on the trail

and standing water.

I did not mind.

I walked and I thought.

I was aware.

I reflected.

I breathed in the cool Spring air.

Walking is good for my body and my soul.

Walk about

Since rain is in the forecast for tonight
I went walking this afternoon.

I took my camera.

I was looking for tulips.

The walking trail my husband and I walk on in the evenings is in a small city park. Near the trail there are tulips.

The park is in a residential area.

One of the neighbor's has chickens and a pair of turkeys.

I have been wanting to take a few chicken portraits.

The birds are curious.

A Blue Heron flew over as I was walking.
I wondered where she went.
I stopped at the woods near by on the way home.

She was not at Little Pond.

To the park

I walked in the park this afternoon.

My husband and I walk on this trail in the evenings.

The Bradford Pear trees are in full bloom.

I think they are so pretty.

The sun is shining and it is 58F degrees.

It is a beautiful spring day.
I think I will go walk some more.
I want to photograph Spring!

Walking in April

I grabbed my pink hat.

I uncrossed my ankles.

I went walking down the street.

I was looking for pink!

The ice and snow damaged the Magnolia blooms.

A Robin walked with me.

Some branches were broken in my neighbor's yard.
We also had broken branches from the ice and snow.
The Bradford Pears are in bloom.

My neighbor's daffodils are inspiring me.

I shall try to sketch them.

The Gold Finches were on the feeder when I returned home.
They are in full molt.

Showers are in the forecast.
April showers.
