Goodbye August

I walked about the yard.
I said my goodbye to August.

The mums along the back walk are budding.

The pot of mums on the porch
are beginning to bloom.

The Dogwoods are begining to blush.

A Red Spotted Purple came looking for rotting fruit.
A Tawny Emperor dried her wings.

Skipper seem to enjoy each other's company.

This female Cloudless Sulphur

seemed to be looking for a host plant to lay her eggs.

Lady Beetles are keeping the Goldenrod clear of aphids.

Goodbye August.

Hello September.

Cool Flutterbye Photos ...

I didn't see as many of them visiting my butterfly bush this year ... as I have in the past

I don't want to say goodbye to Summer but today is indeed a Fall one ..

I love that chrysanthemum, I didn't know until I was an adult that the Buddhist use them as a form of worship to their God on Mondays and Wednesday. I bought them for their beauty and the vender asked why I bought them on a Tuesday.

It's so sad that summer's coming to an end. I haven't taken to these northeast winters very well. Even after 18 of them!

Thanks for comment about numbers and cars. There are two more numbers. If you are a Chinese, you avoid number 4 like the plague. 4 sounds like dying, My sister paid $100 to get any number but 4.

Number 3 sounds like life, so it is a good number. It is like an auction, the highest bidder gets the number.

If you see in the US, a personalised number 8, chances are the car belongs to a Chinese.

We were lucky, Sibu the town I was born, was sort of founded by Roman catholic priests and Methodist pastors from US, at that time, there was less of this mumble jumble.

My younger sister did bid for 899, it was for nostalgia reasons. I think, one of my bro in Australia also did that.

By the way, I am with the Reduce Footprints, the challenge is growing in the fall. Do you grow in the fall? Here, it gets too cold.

Cheers,

Ann

I am on vacation, plenty of time for walks and blogs.

Beautiful photos, especially the butterflies. Chrysanthemum is so pretty too through your camera though I often see them sold in the market here, just never realized its beauty.
