Nest Building

While walking in the cemetery
I heard the Red Bellied Woodpeckers.

I followed their calls.

She was very busy!

I will check back!

Nest building has begun.
I am spring cleaning too.

A walk in the park

I had lunch with my
nephew and my great nephew.
We talked about good digestion.

Pleasant companionship makes for pleasant digestion.
These two have a special energy that fills my spirit with vim, vigor and vitality!

After our lunch we lingered at the table for a few minutes.
This short little rest allows for digestion to get a good start.
We laughed and smiled and enjoyed our special time together.

We stopped at a near by park.
The day was sunny.
The three of us went walking.

We visited a little bit as we walked.
Mostly we were happy just to be together.
Some of our time was spent in silence.
My constitution responds to these two kind spirits.

My afternoon was very fun.
Easy to digest.
I love them both.

Spring Revuvenation

I am home from my first
health spa retreat.

Now I want to begin living the Ayurveda way.

I am making the choice to live as healthy
as I am able.
I am reflecting on what I learned while on my retreat
and how I can assimilate this ancient knowledge into my daily routine.

Not only do I want to change some of my behaviors but also some of my home!

I would like to grow more of my food.
In Ayurveda you eat fresh food!

Basking

Once the fog lifted the temperatures
began to rise.

Under partly cloudy skies I went walking.
Mockingbird went with.
He would stop every now and again for a quick song!

I walked up to the little pond.

Seeing the turtles basking was thrilling.
Little Pond has more and more wild life coming to her.
Spring is waking up slowly.
I am enjoying every minute.

Foggy Morning

Even after sunrise the fog laid heavy.

Slowly a little brightness.

I am packing my things today.
My home prep program has gone very well.
I am looking forward to my Spring retreat.

May you also know the renewal of Spring.

Let's hope they stick this time.

In the neighborhood

My neighbor's Magnolia tree is setting buds.

In my area this ornamental tree is called,
"The Tulip Tree".

Often the trees will bloom too early.
We will see what happens this spring.

My other neighbor has a large Southern Magnolia Tree.
This tree usually blooms in late spring, long after danger of frost.

It was nice to see the oak tree has it's protector!

In search of leaf buds

I walked in the cemetery.
I was looking for leaf buds.

Some of the trees have begun to bud.

When I rounded a curve I saw the Yellow Birch.

I am filled with the joy of anticipation.

Spring is coming slowly this year.
I will enjoy watching her unfold.

Breaking fast

I have never been a breakfast eater.
I have a cup of coffee and a glass of water when I get up.
I have read how breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
When the kids were little I fixed their breakfast.
I send zucchini muffins with my husband each morning.
Fixing breakfast for myself has always been difficult.
I have tried all sorts of different foods; cereal, toast and eggs.
I just have never taken to breakfast.

For my prep program I am to eat a cooked apple or pear each morning.
I can cook it in the micro-wave for 45 seconds and sprinkle it with cinnamon.

I have taken to it!
I look forward to my breakfast.
It is tasty and so easy.

Normally I light my candle for my husband or my children.
I send blessings and my love.
This morning I lit my candle for me.
I am grateful I am learning how to take care of my body.

Preparing

I have begun my home preparations
for my spring rejuvenation at The Raj.

Yesterday I bought a journal for my schedule and my thoughts. When I have a new awareness or a question I will have my little black book near by. I am writing down what I am doing each day and my meals and snacks.

The Lilies are opening and filling the dining room with the sweet smell of spring.
My balance includes flowers and birds and sunshine. Good for my spirit.
For my emotions I am laughing and connecting with family and friends.
For my body I am following the diet The Raj sent to me.
I am walking when the weather permits. I am getting plenty of sleep and water.

I have a folder to hold the many papers I am collecting.
I have also begun to put together my spa outfits.
I have chosen sage, nutmeg and mustard as my colors. My accessories will be in black, cream and silver. I have a hat!

I am learning about new foods. My daughter told me about Quinoa. It is a complete protein grain. Very tasty and on my list of foods for home preparation.
My husband is very supportive too. He goes to the market with me for our fresh vegetables and is eating the same suppers. That makes it easy for me.
He also told me last night he will drive me to The Raj and pick me up.
One less stress.

I have put together a little art supply bag. I have colored pencils and a glue stick and a pair of scissors. I may want to decorate my journal while I am gone.
I am preparing and having fun.

The camera is going too!

Sunshine

The sun was warm and no wind.
The temperasture was still below freezing.
I went walking.

No leaf buds yet.
Spring feels so near.

Robins were on the walking trail.

The ice has left the pond.

The robins are claiming their territories.
It felt good to walk in the sunshine.

Mockingbird

Mockingbird teaches me
to sing my own sacred song.

Mockingbird is not afraid.
Mockingbird reminds me to sing out and to share my song.

Knowing my life purpose and sharing my talents means my life is rewarding.
Mockingbird has taught me to follow my inner wisdom.

Mockingbird is my friend.

I am grateful Mockingbird lives in my backyard.
