Around here, I see males arguing over territory. Or over females, don't know which. Even that is a hopeful sign of Spring. :-)
I'm waiting to see the male Cardinal feed the Female. I just love that. It's my favorite sign of Spring. And that the Wheel of the Seasons and the Year, is really turning...
Dear Mari-Nanci, I have not seen the Cardinals doing their seed giving. I have seen the Purple finches. It is always very sweet to see seed giving. Your snows will melt soon. The wheel is turning slowly here too. Each day I see a little more Spring. Looking forward to the temperatures! Sherry
Nest building! What an exciting time. We have a woodpecker who has been stopping by daily at the suet basket :-} no sign of a mate though. The male cardinal has been feeding the female (one of the sweetest sights) with left over crackers from the squirrels :-}.
Dear Deb, Seed giving is very sweet to watch. I have not seen the Cardinals do their feeding yet. I enjoyed seeing your Cedar Waxwings. They are so beautiful! I hope some come to my yard this year. Sherry
Dear Wildlife Gardener, Thank you! These two were so fun to watch. They both come to my feeding stations and I get to watch them get peanuts off and on every day. I feel connected to this pair. Watching them prepare a nesting site was very wonderful. I consider this couple one of my friends! Bird songs, Sherry
Dear Becky, Lots of spring cleaning to be done here at my house. I am getting rid of all sorts of things. I seem to have a few boxes for donation every month! One of these days I will have the house and gardens just the way I want them! LOL!! As it is I am cleaning my nest! Glad you are back home. Sherry
Dear Iowa Gardening Woman, The Red-bellies are so pretty. I am looking forward to seeing the babies. Spring is my favorite time of year. All the blloms and the sweet bird songs just fill my spirit with joy. Sherry
