North and Northwest

I am smitten with Swainson's Thrush.

Head over heels in love.
Our house sitter will feed the birds while we are gone.
Swaison's Thrush likes raisins and grape jelly.
I brought out my fossil bag.
My rock hammer and my chisels still snuggled in the pockets.
My Dad's old rock hammer was also tucked inside.

The peonies continue to delight.
I am drying some for winter tea.

I brought one of our fossils in from the front garden.
I need a cabinet for my fossils.

We are gathering our supplies.
Soon we will leave on our adventure.

Soon we will follow the Fossil Freeway.
It is the Full Flower Moon
also called
The Hare Moon.
We watched the Moon rise last night.
We took our moon bath.
Tonight we shall watch her again fill the
 back yard with Moon glow.

Dear Sherry,

Lovely thrush, what an elegant pose. It is very similar to our mistle thrush, a personal favourite.
The birds will miss you and you them. I am sure they will be well looked after by the sitter.....

Have a wonderful trip.
