I walked early just in case
the rains began sooner than forecasted.
I walked in the cemetery.
I wanted to visit the Hawthorn tree on May Day.
I do not know if the Hawthorn is native to my area or not.
It is the traditional May Day tree.
There was a funeral going on near the tree.
I walked the other direction.
The Maple tree is native as is the Crab.
The winds are picking up.
The May pole ribbons are dancing and weaving.
I am feeling so much better. I have some vitality again.
It is nice to get out and walk.
It is nice to be in May.

What a lovely post. I love cemeteries, old and new. Nice tribute to May.
Beautiful photos ..love the first tree and the lovely pink blossom of the third tree. Great to be alive and live in the moment :)
Ahhh yes, it is nice to get out and walk. And celebrate May - the beginning of lots of flowers and lovely weather.
I thought hawthorn trees only grew in England. I'm probably wrong in that, but I remember reading that the hawthorn had magical properties in Celtic folklore. Can't remember what they are - will have to do some research.
Don't you just love old trees like this hawthorn? Lovely crabapple blossoms; I must have the same variety. With the wind we've been having today, my driveway is pink!
Glad you are feeling better.
Hello, you site is just beautiful, such cheerful photos!! Love the blooms and birds!!
I'm very late commenting here. But I'm still so glad to see that you wrote, that you are feeling so much better.

Dear NC Mountainwoman,
I too enjoy cemeteries. I love the one across the street from my house. It is rather large and a nice place to take a walk.
So glad you have begun a blog. I shall pop over and visit.

Dear Wildlife Gardener,
I do enjoy each day. At least I try and find something to enjoy!
Nature gives so much beauty all I have to do is look out and up!

Dear Wendy,
I do think the Hawthorn is native in England. There are a few in my area. Very lovely trees. "Bringing in the May" was bringing Hawthorn branches into the house on May Day. The Hawthorn would have been in bloom.
Nice to meet you.
Looking forward to visiting your journal and getting to know you.

Dear Rose,
I do love old trees. I am feeling so much better. Hopefully I will be walking more!
I miss walking when I do not get out.
I post most days over on Q's Corner. Come by and see my birds.

Hello, Sherry :)
Thanks for the visit. I hope you are continuing to go from strength to strength :)
Dear Aunt "B's",
Welcome! So glad you enjoyed this walk. I have been somewhat ill and am just getting my strength back.
I am "jogging" in place on days I cannot get out for my 30 minute walk about.
Hope to pop over to your journal and get to know you better.
Happy gardening,
Sherry
