To the woods

It was mid-afternoon before I was able to go walking.

Lots of butterflies and bees

but it was the wasps that grab my attention.

I looked for dragonflies and saw one damselfly.
Dragonfly days are coming to an end for this year.

The Monarchs have been to migrate.

You mean the wasps did not fly off in a huff at being scrutinized so closely? I'm amazed that your hand was so steady when you took that picture. I would probably have been shaking from either laughter or fear or both. Nice capture of some insect rapture, Q.

Dear Walk2write,
Those wasps were so busy with each other and feeding, talk about multi-tasking, that they did not notice me at all!
I have read that some bugs can smell fear. It draws the bugs to you. I really am more interested than afraid.
Thanks for walking with me.

Sherry

what type of camera do you use?
these are flawless photos!

Dear Marmee,
This camera is a Nikon D40 with a 55-200x lens. It is a light weight camera and is nice for walking.
I use the automatic settings so it is a point and shoot camera. If I need to I can use manual settings.
Thanks for walking with me.

Sherry
