It's beginning to look like Christmas

The pumpkins and scarecrows are slowly
being replaced with snowmen
and ornaments.

I walked down the street.
The day warmed to 50 degrees
and although I had outside decorating to do too
I wanted to get a quick walk in.

I enjoy seeing the neighbor's decorations.

I trimmed the pine tree when I returned home.

Visions of sugarplums dance in my head
as I decorated the window boxes with pine boughs and suet cakes.

Christmas is coming!

Dear Cathy,
I really like these big ornaments my neighbor has hanging in his pine tree.
He has other things in his yard but the ornaments are my favorite.
Enjoy decorating. I think it is fun.

Very decorative and iconic ornaments. It's an art form giving a tree the right assortment of style and personalized authenticity.

I love the idea of pine boughs w/ suet cakes! I usually put out the boughs but this year I'll add the suet cakes! Thank you for the suggestion!

Dear Lavender Dreamer,
It is a pretty time of year. Some of the neighbor's have the full yard displays which always seem a bit over done to me!
I like the lights. I think they are pretty. These extra large tree ornaments are pretty in the daylight.

Dear Robert,
The style of these ornaments are very iconic. I have often wondered what they mean. They look Eastern Orthodox to me. Very beautiful shapes...and the first with the pearls wrapped just so, I thought was exquisite. The blue is also so heavenly.

Dear Anna,
I keep the suet holders in the window boxes full all winter. I love seeing the chick-a-dees and wrens so close!
I also have feeders near the porch and office windows. I love looking out and watching the birds.
Happy decorating,
Sherry

oh sherry, very lovely indeed! i love how most everyone gets in the spirit of things.it makes it seems like the world is in one mind to me. which seems right.
i love the idea of suet in the boughs too. i have a bird cage i leave open with food in it and the birds come and go as they please, it is fascinating to me, the idea of a free cage...you are always inspiring to me, thank you!

Dear Marmee,
If it warms up a bit I would love to go around with the tripod and take some night photographs.
An open door policy is a good one!
I have a pair of Purple Finches at the feeder by the office window right now. So sweet.
I also love the spirit of oneness this time of year can bring forth.
Enjoy your decorating and feeding the birds.

Dear Walk2write,
I am in the mood for sure. My house looks so pretty with all the little lights.
Next week I will do some baking. It is just my husband and I so we do not need too many cookies but a few are nice..I also will mix up some bird treats...they like my peanutbutter balls with nuts and raisins!

Dear TC,
Me too!
I seem to go for the classic style.
I like a small amount of outdoor decorations. I like lots of bird treats! Thus I will be puttng out all sorts of yummies. Stringing cranberries is fun and the birds love them.

What a wonderful blog! Your tree looks yummy. I have always been fond of glass, and the wrapped glass candy ornament is very pretty.
