Afternoon walk

While the washing machine and dryer
did the laundry I went for a walk.
Mockingbird came with.
I had brought along a litter bag.

The bamboo on the west side of my backyard
stays green all winter.
I will cut a few stems for my vases.

I spotted a walnut wedged in the fork of a
volunteer Rose of Sharon in my neighbor's yard.

The afternoon sky was crystal blue.
The temperature below freezing.
The sun was warm on my face
and the north wind cold.

I feel refreshed.
Happy to be walking again.

Dear One,

I walk with you in my thoughts in spirit. I rested again, all day today.

Today was quite brisk, wasn't it? Sunny, but very cold. I am glad that the sun warmed your face. I pulled the blankets over mine. :)

Love you,

Dear Sprite,
I think of you when I go forth.
I feel your presence and know you are always near.
Do hope your resting brings about much energy come springtime.
It is cold even in the bright sun.
The wind is sharp.
Snow is on the way, pull the blankets up even tighter.
Love you,
Sherry

Dear Mari-Nanci,
The sky was so blue and clear!
Daytime Moon shots are always delightful to me too. I like the difference between the sky photos from Tuesday to Wednesday! It snowed over night so I am hoping to get dressed this morning and get outside for sunrise!
Thank you for walking with me.

Dear Mari-Nanci,
Sprite is a delight!
Whenever I see a comment from her I get all excited. She is kind, encouraging and insightful. I think she hibernates in the winter!
Once in awhile she pops in to sip sweet nectar than goes back to sleep! Sometimes while walking I will take a picture thinking Sprite will like it! She also sees in the shadows and the clouds.
I love her!
I bet she will be delighted to read your comment. I am!
Thank you for your kind words and your encouragement. I will keep walking knowing you are walking with. I never walk alone.

Dearest Sherry,

Hello! I am delighted to see the comment from Mari-Nanci, and I want to wave Hi right back to her. hehe.

My name came from my beloved mother who raised me. She said I was like a little "wood sprite" darting here and there, to and fro, when I was a two (when she met me) thus she nicknamed me 'sprite,' it has stayed with me through the years.

Walking in Beauty is a wonderful place to have a walking meditation, I very much enjoy our walks!

Sherry you are so right, I am hibernating.

Stay warm!

Lovingly,
*sprite

Dear Sprite,
Snuggle up! A wintery mix is headed our way. Be full of care if you have to get out.
Hugs,
Sherry

a walnut wedged in a fork !!.... now doesn't that just show how many little things we notice? I, too, would notice something like that... but...not many do. How much they miss in life....and how much whining we hear from just those folks.......

okay... that is it...I will stop my commenting for now or you will think I am a stalker..hahahhah.......and just peruse backwards through your lovely pictures.... beautiful.... I think I need to get me a zoom or a new camera or something...so I can get closer to the birds I love so much.

Dear Bumblevee,
I am so glad you left a comment. Thank you. Now I can come see you!
Meeting new people is the delight of blogging.
You may enjoy my other blog, "Q's Corner" as well. I post most often over there. Walking in Beauty began as a way to share my walk as I age. I am working on learning the Ayurveda tradition and am going to a Ayuvedic Spa in March.
I will share all! If it warms up enough for me to get back walking I will share my walks in the woods or in the neighborhood.
Happy to meet you!
Sherry
