The last Rose of Summer

It has been a glorious Indian Summer.
I have gathered seed; the flowers beds are mulched.
I cut the last Rose of Summer.

We are ready.
A cold front is on its way.
A hard freeze will end our growing season.

I have many inside projects.

I have many books to read.
I have many dreams to dream.

Q, Like you the end is about to happen here at Lake Michigan too. And like you, with the end of the growing season, now I can turn my time to so many other projects that need to be done. Just finished cleaning the potting shed. That took a full day. It looks great and ready for next Spring. Now off to visit some museums that I didn't get to see during the Summer, so Winter also brings plenty to do to enrich my life. This is also the time that I put together a number of postings I call "Blog Shots" showing never before seen photos from the 2011 Summer garden. Jack

I love the changes. I ride my bike with my camera, watching for color in the desert! Yay, for winter's coming!

Can you believe that we are at the end of the growing season, and have entered into my 'nesting' season with the onset of chill winds and wood fires? Your photos of the rose, the beloved Titmouse and gorgeous Cardinal are so beautiful and I will be able to see more of these birds against slate backgrounds. :) Hugs and Blessed Be!

Yes I agree the winter months are months we can use to snuggle up and get cozy with a good book or day dream of summer days while sipping on something warm and tasty. For me it's Hot chocolate or tea. Have a Wonderful Thanksgiving.

I can't imagine severeness in your land's winter. But you must have many lovely things to pass a winter. I am looking forward to know them through this blog.
