Gathering Sweet Gums

It warmed to 50 degrees.
I went walking in the cemetery.
I am packing up the Christmas decorations.
I needed a break.
I needed some Sweet Gums and Goose feathers for the
January potpourri bowl.

We've still got all our decorations up. I wanted to leave them until after my oldest son returned home. He was up for a visit and left this mornin, now we'll be taking things down. Sadly.

any day above freezing with no ice on the sidewalks is good for walking. though we have walked when neither condition has been met.

What a nice collage! I especially liked the moon pic.

My daughter-in-law gave me a coffee cup for Christmas with a collage of all my grandchildren. It was really special!

It is nice to take a break and go outside for a breath of fresh air.

Lovely collage! Wish my decorations were packed up. Working at it slowly. Still enjoy the lights at night.

Dear Marmee,
It is my goal tonight to do all my responces...I am so sorry to be this far behind...
I love putting Christmas up. I always think it looks so pretty and by January 1st I think the house is dirty and Christmas must go!
Happy January to you too. 2009 is the Year of the Ox.
So far I am having a great year.
Hope you are too.

Dear Wayne,
Always good to walk when there is no ice, that is for sure. I like you will go but I am aware that I must tread carefully.
Looking forward to visiting your blog.
Thanks for walking and gathering sweet gums.

Dear Wendy,
What a great present your daughter-in-law gave you.
I seldom do the collages but thought with the blues of these photographs it would work. Also a nice way to show 7-9 photos all at once!
I need to walk every day. Good for my digestion.
Thanks for walking with!

Dear Mary,
I thought it was taking me extra long this year to get packed up but when I read my January journal from last year I saw I was ahead of the game! The lights are pretty. I have some fun Japanese lanterns I do for January. They add a different look to the house and have a soft warm light.
I still need to walk as much as I can. My body needs to move in the winter.
Thanks for walking with me.
