After the rain stopped
I went for a walk.
I just went down the side street.
I have walked down my street many times.
I have lived here for 30 years.
Today I saw the small bird bath my neighbor has in her yardI went for a walk.

and the gnome that lives under it.
I saw her grasses for the first time.
I smelled the wild Passion Flower.
These are not new.
I just opened my eyes.

What a lovely walk Sherry! It's always fun to notice things we had not noticed before. In the autumn, we can see more as the foliage begins to diminish.
I love it when I look again and see with new eyes.
Lovingly,

"I just opened my eyes."
Those 5 words, hold volumes of meaning. I love each word. Of the 5. And of the volumes they bring to mind.
May I learn to 'just open my eyes' more!

Dear Sprite,
I was so tickled! This just let me know I will always see new to me sights!
My husband and I walk this way every evening. He also had never noticed the bird bath and the gnome!
I opened my eyes a little bit wider!
Hugs,
Sherry
Dear Mari-Nanci,
Thank you. I realized how I come to each day with so much past knowings and often I have failure to see what is right in front of me. When I approach as "new" I see more.
Thus each day is a new day and a new page.
Thank you for walking with me.
I am getting my shoes on to go out walking this morning.
It is a new day...it is a different walk.
Sherry
