Care Of My Soul

Every year I have a ritual of cutting the Lavender.
I cut the stems and bundle them.
I hang the stems to dry.
Normally I have thousands of stems to cut.
This year I have very little.

I was not going to harvest any this year.
My idea was to let the lavender go to seed.

I have not been sleeping very well.
I needed to spend some time with the fresh lavender.
Lavender is my herb.
It restores me.

Oh Sherry, I have only just discovered you have another blog. Did I miss an introduction somewhere along the line :-( It is just as beautiful as your corner. I am keeping a close eye on my lavender, I will have to pick it very soon!

We all need our restorative, at times.

May the lavender be of help...

Oh I love lavender also.
I have planted very much of it in my garden . . . sadly, some died last winter . . . but I will plant more. It's lovely.

Dear Chris,
No worries Dear Heart!
I am so subtle that you may not have thought I was starting another journal!
Here I would like to be a bit more artsy and explore feelings. I currently am working on the graceful way of ageing! I would like to share some of that here too. If in some way we can share conversation I would like that!
Corner is different with bird and butterfly reports.
You will so enjoy working with lavender. I think every person has a herb. For me it is lavender. I use lavender for all my needs.
Enjoy,
Sherry

Dear Mari-Nanci,
My sleep has been disturbed for the last couple of months.
I wake up off and on all night!
Doing a wee bit of lavender yesterday was so good for my soul. I know I will be letting most of my hedge go to seed this year but at least I had a few stems for my nightstand.
I did not get to sleep all night again last night but at least when I did awaken it smelled yummy!

Dear Becky,
Lavender is so wonderful. It is sad when plants do not make it through the winter. I love my lavender. For me the lavender is as dear as a cat or a dog. My plants are very old. I too will plant more.
I think right now I will go get a few stems and make some fresh lavender tea!
Thanks for being near,
I am so happy you are here.

I do lavender syrups and use them for my lemonaides and other sweet needs. Lavender sugar is nice too.
