City of Fountains

My city is known as
The City of Fountains.

There are hundreds of them through-out the city.
There are large fountains in parks and roadways and small fountains tucked in grottoes. Many public buildings have a fountain as part of their design.

Today I walked with my friend on the Country Club Plaza.
A shopping district in my city.
It is where she works and walks everyday.

On the Plaza there are fountains, sculptures, mosaics, shops of all sorts and restaurants.

Each fountain has a history.
My favorite changes often.
Today my favorite is the Mermaid Fountain.

This is a beautiful post, Sherry. I love the statue of the mother and child. When my children were little we would give butterfly and eskimo kisses :-) It reminded me of those days :-)

Sherry; I was blog-strolling and came across your site and then had to go tour the others. I have book marked them and plan to visit often. Your pots are amazing, and peace-inspiring. Thank you for sharing them!

Dear Tracy,
Oh so glad you found me! I will pop over and see your journal.
Thank you. I do enjoy the photos and the opportunity to share them.
I post when I download photos through out the day. Sometimes it is once sometimes many more times. It all depends on Mother Nature and what she sends to my back yard.
It will be fun to get to know you.
Tulsa is a grand city.
Oklahoma is in tornado alley like Missouri.
I will keep you and yours in my blessings. No tornados! I am one who puts the request in before there are storms.

Dear Tracy,
No worries. Here we are relaxed and love the typo!!
I have a tendancy to add or subtract letters as I respond. I also leave out words!
I think of comments as a place for conversation. A chat.

Dear Mari-Nanci,
I do like the fountains. Many are on all winter and when the ice forms they are lovely. Many have lights too!

Dear Lauri,
It was a fun walk today. I did get hot but taking pictures of the fountains was fun and talking with my friend was very enjoyable. I am trying to be more sociable. I spend lots of time with the birds and bugs.
Thanks for coming along with me. I am so enjoying posting my daily walk. Knowing you are reading and walking with me means so much to me.
Thank you for taking your time to share back.

Sherry,

What a wonderful post and sharing, thank you!

I love the photos of the fountains and statues, they are just beautiful.

There is one statue that I love very much on the Country Club Plaza, it is of a sleeping child.

These photographs are pristine, wow. I just love this post. Thank you again.

Much love,

Dear Sprite,
I know the sculpture of the sleeping child! It is wonderful!
My favorite seems to change often!
For years I loved Penguin Court! Still do.
So glad you enjoyed this. There are sculptures all over the city as well as fountains. As I look about I see not only the beauty of Mother Nature but also when mankind has left a beautiful tribute.
It is when we work with nature that our world is enhanced. With respect and care I think we can once again find our oneness not only with nature but with each other. Oh, and doing so can be very fun.

Sherry
