Calm before the rain

I walked before the rains.
I do hope they come.
Mockingbird came with me.

Today I walked in my neighborhood.
I wanted to stay close to home.
I wanted to look at the trees before the rain.

It was so quiet I could hear my footsteps.
I could hear leaves falling to the ground.
I heard the geese long before I saw them.

It is warm.
I walked in short sleeves.
It is Indian Summer.

Your photographs and poetry are beautiful! Thanks for sharing them. I don't get out and walk around as much as I should- from your photographs I can see that I am missing out. :)

Ahh! I enjoyed this calming walk. The quiet is nice.

The geese honking overhead added a soundtrack to the walking meditation.

Nice...

Lovingly,

Hello Daniel,
So nice to meet you!
I walk almost every day with my camera. Not only is it a good way for me to get a bit of extra exercise but also I visit with neighbors and watch the seasons change. There are three different types of walks I do; neighborhood, cemetery and the woods.
I hope you do take your camera for a walk. I would enjoy seeing your "neck of the woods".

Dear Sprite,
Perhaps because it was a holiday very few cars and very few "city" sounds were present on our walk. It was very silent, the wind was calm and the birds were quiet. The sound of my foot falls were all I could hear until the geese announced their arrival.
It was a delight to see the huge flock of geese.
Thank you for walking with me. Thank you for you love,
Sherry
