Dear Sprite,
There is a soffit over my head here! It protects me from the rain and snow as long as the wind is from the north. I have a chair that tucks in nicely. With blankets, hat, gloves and hot coffee I can stay warm for about thirty minutes.
Last year I took photos through the windows, this year I want to be right outside with my bird friends.
Thank you, Honey for being near.

Dear Mari-Nanci,
I never enjoyed the snow until I bought silk long underwear. Wow! It is wonderful. I am warm without ever being too hot. This year I bought a wool "hunter's vest". It has big pockets for lens and lens cloth and I can even stick a bottle of water in one of the pockets. I bought the vest extra large so it will go over my field jacket if I want it to. I found that if I take a couple of cotton blankets outside with me and wrap my legs up and sit on a warmed blanket I am very comfortable. Now snow is very pretty! I am grateful I do not have to drive in it! I also have snow boots so if I want to go walking in the snow this year I will be able to so without the concern of falling.
I like the snow..now come March I bet it will not look so pretty to me!

Love the cardinal picture, they're such beautiful birds and especially so in the snow.

A hunting vest? What a great idea for the camera equipment and all of those little things we might need on a winter walk.

Dear Robin.
Very nice to meet you!
I shall pop over to your jounal.
The hunter's vest has really been handy. I wear it almost every day that it is cold. I sit outside with the birds and have everything I need right in my pockets. I carry an extra battery too just in case...
