It has been too many years since I last saw a
Mourning Cloak butterfly. I was thrilled to see one today
when we went to Cave Springs.
There is a flower bed in the circle drive.
We stopped to watch butterflies. Painted Ladies,
Red Admirals,
Common Buckeyes,
Orange Sulphurs and
Checkered Whites were out in abundance.
We did see a few dragonflies.
I took notes.

Great photos :)
I love mourning cloaks, too.
My daughter raised one from a caterpillar a few years back.

DEar Sherry,
The butterflies seem to like the alliums. They never use them here, isn't that strange.....
Beautiful area, I would love to sit there pond watching.
I saw my first damselfly in the garden yesterday. The common red,
it was good to know they are still in the garden.
