In the rain

The morning drizzle stopped.
This was my time to walk.
Snow is in the forecast for this afternoon
and this evening.

A gray and wet cold day.

I kept looking up.

My neighbor's trees are filled with squirrel nests.

It started to rain before I could get back home.
I need rain gear for my camera.

I just love this world of blogging.
I learn something new every day!
I never knew that squirrels make nests! I thought they lived in hollows in trees. We dont have squirrels here or in New Zealand, so I am quite ignorant about them, I now realise.

Dear Meggie,
The squirrels in my area do make very large nests in the trees. I have never studied the squirrels so I do not very much about them except they do raid my bird feeders! I put peanuts and corn out for them but they seem to like the mixed seed in the feeders the best!
The blogging world is wonderful.
With just a click I can come to you and see your world. I am so happy to have met you.

Dear Sherry,

I have two huge oak trees out back, thus I have squirrels too. They scamper around and take care of most the acorns each winter, I'm glad they have food. The babies are so cute too.

Dear Sprite,
For us the squirrels are part of our everyday life. For Meggie, in Australia, they are totally new. It is here we get to connect. While you rest I am moving about and while I rest you are out and about!
The Blue Jays also like the acorns as do the Flickers. I read acorns are favorite winter food for the deer. It is a amazing any ever get to grow!
More rain and snow is coming in. One wet January!
